A Little Ham

Jayden loves attention. I read that all babies crave attention but that we learn to drop that part of ourselves as we age. He's at the point where he knows exactly what to do to get other people to talk to him. He flashes his little grin and giggles. He knows that gets them. Then he'll yell. It's his version of talking really, and people love it, especially when he changes his voice from a low roar to a high-pitched sigh. They're amazed that he knows how to alter his voice. Ha, ha. Little do they know he's been doing that for months.

I'm very proud of him. I read that by the end of December, he should be able to recognize one command accompanied by a hand gesture. He already knows several without hand gestures: "no," "come here," "we're done," and "go to Mommy/Daddy." It's a small accomplishment, yes, but at nine months, it's all I have.
